YARMOUTH — Board of Health unanimously approves plastic-use extensions and updated kratom regulation. Papa Gino's and Old King's Coffeehouse each received extensions or waivers valid until October 2026 to phase out non-compliant plastic goods, while Town Fair Tire's septic variance for its 474 and 484 Station Avenue project passed unanimously. The board also unanimously accepted Town Counsel's updated kratom regulation language and voted to implement the revised rules immediately, directing Station Avenue Convenience Store to remove all kratom products within one week.
Discussion of a proposed Nicotine Free Generation regulation was postponed to the May 4 agenda after Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce CEO Mary Vilbon raised concerns about impact on local businesses.
