Commission approves residential permits with environmental protections required

Conservation Commission Agendas and Minutes · Meeting of September 3, 2026

Yarmouth Conservation Commission approves wetland permits with environmental protections required. Chair David Bernstein and Vice Chair Paul Huggins led the September 3 meeting through ten permit determinations, approving six applications. Gene Bisol's shed at 4 Swan Lake Road requires 288 square feet of salt marsh restoration; Ronald Paradis' patio project on Blue Rock Road requires native plantings; two Certificates of Compliance were issued for fence and Great Island Road projects.

Five applications were continued for additional work: Michael Thonus' pool and addition at 19 Covey Drive was continued to September 17 due to concerns over unapproved tree removals, insufficient mitigation, excessive fill, and missing stormwater management. Compliance reviews for Mark Doran and Herman and Elena Ponyrko were continued to October 11 due to incomplete restoration work. All approved determinations carried unanimously.
