Committee Advances Three Concept Plans for Mattacheese Site to Select Board
Mattacheese Utilization Committee · Meeting of April 16, 2026
YARMOUTH — Mattacheese Utilization Committee approves three concept plans for former school reuse. The committee voted unanimously or near-unanimously to present Alternatives A and B, and 5-1 to advance Alternative C, each anchored by a 120,000-square-foot sports facility with four to five athletic fields, housing ranging from 30 to 66 units, and 385 to 480 parking spaces. Town Planner Kathy Williams and BSC Group consultant Heather Gould presented the concepts, which assume full demolition of the existing school building.
The committee scheduled a supplemental virtual meeting for May 4 to allow staff and members time to review the draft MUC Report before its May 12 presentation to the Select Board, and voted 6-0 to include the Cape Cod Baseball League as a potential business partnership in the final report.
