Conservation Commission approves Girl Scout bat boxes, continues six permit reviews

YARMOUTH — Conservation Commission approves Girl Scout bat box project at Sandy Pond Recreation Area and orders compliance for oyster farm. The five-member board unanimously authorized the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Troop 70976 to install bat habitat boxes and issued an Order of Compliance for Christian Hayes's proposed aquaculture farm in Cape Cod Bay, subject to widgeon grass protection and wildlife entanglement conditions. The commission continued six environmental permits to future hearings, including a complex cranberry bog restoration project at 110 Weir Road for the town that will require February 19 review of DEP reference numbers and draft special conditions.
Four residential projects and two permit applications were deferred to March 15 or February 19.
