Design Review Committee approves preliminary comments on six-unit residential redevelopment.

Design Review Committee · Meeting of January 13, 2026

YARMOUTH — Design Review Committee unanimously approved preliminary comments on Steven M. Katz's proposal to replace a commercial building at 703 Route 28 with six units in three duplexes. The project, filed under the Village Centers Overlay District, reduces curb cuts from two to one and lowers impervious surface by approximately 7,645 square feet, with stormwater systems designed for the 100-year storm and all units featuring four enclosed garage parking spaces.

The committee flagged design standard discrepancies requiring the applicant to modify or seek relief: some facades lack required 5-foot modulation within 50-foot spans, the center building needs wall-height variation, and interior and south elevations must be submitted before Site Plan Review.
