YARMOUTH — Finance Committee defers Dennis-Yarmouth school budget vote pending further review. The committee received detailed presentations from Police Chief Kevin Lennon and Fire Chief Enrique Arrascue on FY27 budget requests, with Lennon describing a department down three full-time positions and four additional vacancies expected by July, requesting cyber-crime investigation software costing $40,000 annually. Arrascue reported staffing additions following a three-year collective bargaining settlement and identified aging vehicles requiring replacement with 800-day lead times.
Finance Director Jennifer Mullen announced a $35 million bond issue for April. The committee postponed its school district budget recommendation vote, deferring to a tri-board meeting the following Wednesday and the School Committee's final vote by March 13. The committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes.
