Yarmouth Finance Committee unanimously reappoints Laird to Capital Budget Committee. Chairman Richard Simon and Finance Director Jennifer Mullen led a detailed FY27 budget review, with Town Administrator Robert Whritenour Jr. outlining a $122,710,627 proposed operating budget hampered by 2.6 percent revenue growth and labor costs exceeding 75 percent of spending. A sharp 22 percent surge in Cape Cod Technical High School enrollment will cost the town over $839,000; the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District is seeking a 6.35 percent increase against the town's 2.5 percent budget provision.
Whritenour indicated a Proposition 2.5 override will likely be required. The committee deferred final recommendation on Finance and Administration budgets until mid-February, awaiting final assessments on healthcare, retirement, and insurance costs.
