Library Building Committee approves final project cost estimate of $35.3 million

YARMOUTH — Library Building Committee approves final $35.3 million project cost estimate with town obligation of $21.9 million. Matt Oudens reconciled cost estimates from two firms, breaking out $27.4 million in eligible construction costs and $1.8 million in non-eligible costs. The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners awarded $13.4 million (38.04 percent of total), leaving the town responsible for $21.9 million (61.96 percent).
A green library incentive of $402,935 will not be finalized until project completion. The MBLC will vote on approval April 2.
