Library Building Committee · Meeting of January 8, 2026

YARMOUTH — Library Building Committee confirms Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners grant submission completed in December, expects state review comments by late January. Chair Judy Tarver will coordinate with the Select Board and Finance Committee for presentation slots in mid to late March; Committee Vice Chair Tom Pendleton agreed to lead Finance outreach. Consultant Matthew Oudens advised that the MBLC may adjust grant allocations if project scope changes, with 15 to 20 percent design contingency covering unforeseen costs.

The 25,400-square-foot library proposal includes 83 parking spaces; Building Commissioner Mark Grylls confirmed parking numbers meet MBLC standards.
