Yarmouth Planning Board reviewed major revisions to short-term rental regulations and seasonal communities zoning at a June 3 meeting. Town Planner Kathy Williams presented Redline Draft #2 of STR amendments recommending conversion to a General Bylaw with expanded protections for year-round housing, limits of two STRs per owner, prohibitions on corporate and time-share rentals, and occupancy caps. The board discussed three potential special town meeting articles related to STRs and indicated it would offer input to the Select Board on zoning amendments related to seasonal communities designation, leaving the final recommendation for fall town meeting to the Select Board.
A GIS map identified 220 undersized vacant parcels eligible for development under seasonal communities rules.
