Yarmouth's Public Art Committee holds first formal meeting, defers official organization. The three-member committee, with staff liaison Meggan Eldredge, Community Development Director, advanced work on a grant-funded cultural asset inventory while seeking one additional member--an active arts administrator--to complete its roster. Eldredge reported that the long-questioned four-thousand-dollar town beautification fund no longer exists but identified the Tourism Revenue Preservation Fund, holding approximately one hundred thousand to one hundred fifty thousand dollars yearly, as a potential source for tourism-driven projects.
The Cape Cod Commission's Chloe Schaefer and Anne Reynolds outlined a five-step plan to complete the cultural inventory by year's end, with committee members tasked to identify categories and zones before the May 4 meeting.
