Recycling committee approves prior meeting minutes, eyes composting education push.

Yarmouth's Recycling and Solid Waste Advisory Committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and advanced plans for a public education campaign on composting. Chair Bill Glass reported that Black Earth, the town's food-waste hauler, has been asked to assist with outreach; the Yarmouth Rotary Club, which launched a composting pilot at Dennis-Yarmouth High as part of the Lunch out of Landfills initiative, also offered to help. The committee will present format options for the education effort at its April 8 meeting.
Tim Layman has been interviewed by Selectwoman Joyce Flynn and will be presented to the Select Board for approval; Hal Burlingame is renewing his membership, and one seat remains open.
