Yarmouth Substance Awareness Committee approved April meeting minutes unanimously and heard a presentation from FIRST Steps Together. Program Director Christina Russell described the eight-year-old initiative serving parents and expectant parents with substance use histories across Cape Cod from the Sagamore and Bourne bridges to Provincetown, offering in-home visits, phone and Zoom support, and wraparound family services. Chair Annie Catalano reported ongoing collaboration with the Substance Use Disorder Advisory Commission and invited members to attend a SUDAC meeting May 28 at the Dennis Police Department.
The committee recognized strong community attendance at the recent YSAC Touch a Truck event, which drew 150 to 200 attendees.
