Yarmouth Clears Water Quality Advisory at Wing Groves Beach

YARMOUTH — The town's Health Department has lifted a water quality advisory at Wing Groves Beach and Long Pond after testing came back negative for cyanobacteria, according to an update posted Wednesday, July 15.

TOWN HALL The advisory, first issued July 9, had flagged a possible cyanobacteria concern at the popular Long Pond swimming spot. Wednesday's update from the town confirmed water samples tested negative, clearing the beach of the caution.

COMING UP The Select Board holds a goals-setting workshop Saturday, July 18, followed by a regular meeting Tuesday, July 21. The Board of Health and the Community and Economic Development Committee both meet Monday, July 20. The Affordable Housing Trust meets Tuesday, July 21, the same day as the Select Board, and the Zoning Board of Appeals meets Thursday, July 23.
