Yarmouth Public Art Committee Outlines Policy Framework for Public Art Development

Yarmouth Public Art Committee begins work on first formal Public Art Policy. The three-member committee met with Community Development Director Meggan Eldredge to review municipal policy examples from Boston, Fredericksburg, and Athens, selecting the Fredericksburg model as appropriate in scale for Yarmouth. The Committee tasked Eldredge to work with the Community Economic Development Corporation to establish seed-funding mechanisms for the Fiscal Year 2028 budget.
Patricia Thomas will join the committee May 5, bringing it to full strength. The Committee plans outreach to contacts at Hyannis, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and local artists to gather best practices, and will submit a Cultural Asset Inventory to the Cape Cod Commission by June's meeting.
