Zoning Board Approves Habitat's Six-Home Project
Zoning Board · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Yarmouth Zoning Board clears Habitat for Humanity's six-home Route 28 project after months of haggling over irrigation and trash bins. The board voted 5-0 to approve a Chapter 40B comprehensive permit and all requested zoning and subdivision waivers for Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod's 1121 Route 28 development. Chairman Sean Igoe required irrigation systems and enclosed trash and lawn-equipment storage as conditions, telling the applicant's attorney, Marian Rose, "I think this board has consistently demanded that anything that's redeveloped, or developed along Route 28 looks very nice." The trash-enclosure condition passed 4-1; the comprehensive permit itself passed 5-0.
The project includes six income-restricted homes between 30 and 80 percent of area median income, with one bedroom set aside under a veteran preference.
