Capital Planning · Meeting of October 5, 2026

Yarmouth's Capital Budget Committee reviewed roughly $165,000 in town building roof repairs without taking a funding vote. The committee unanimously approved its September minutes, 5-0, after member Danielle Newcombe asked that her name finally be spelled correctly. Assistant Public Works Director Roby Whitehouse detailed a $100,000 police station roof request and a $40,000 fix for the 424 Route 28 natural resources building, both following a 2023 inspection and a prior repair that "ate up" $67,000 meant for both buildings.

A $25,000 West Yarmouth Library chimney repair would run through the Community Preservation Act. Conservation Administrator Brittany DiRianzo pitched expanded invasive species management targeting Japanese knotweed and phragmites, which she said is "a big view blocker," with the town administrator recommending CPA rather than capital funding. Members will score all items electronically before the October 13 meeting.
