Design Review Committee Approves Comments for Town Fair Tire Plaza Expansion

Other Committee · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Yarmouth Design Review Committee clears Town Fair Tire's proposed Lodger Plaza expansion in a unanimous 3-0 vote. The committee reviewed plans for a 6,700-square-foot addition at the southern end of Lodger Plaza on Station Avenue, comprising a retail waiting area and five rear service bays for tire installation. Town Planner Kathy Williams walked members Sarah Porter and Peter Slovak through the town's design standards checklist, flagging one facade-modulation discrepancy and noting that materials mimicking the existing EIFS finish were "appropriate for this setting" even if not strictly traditional.

Williams said the property owner must replace parking lot trees removed since the original special permit, a requirement she expects to become a condition when the project reaches site plan review and the Zoning Board of Appeals, which has jurisdiction over the Aquifer Protection District site. Architect Andrew Milliken said the design copies the plaza's existing columns, gables, and brick facade so the addition looks like part of the original building.
