The Town of Yarmouth announced a schedule of road work and closures for the week of Oct. 26, tied to ongoing sewer, water main, drainage and paving projects. Work runs Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

On Route 28 at Parker's River Landing, the road will be closed during the day, with drivers directed to detour via Winslow Gray Road, Forest Road and Long Pond Drive. The road will stay open to one lane of alternating traffic overnight and on weekends through Friday, controlled by a temporary traffic light.

Near Chase Brook Park on Route 28, crews will continue installing dewatering wells heading east toward Higgins Crowell Road, with one lane of alternating traffic maintained. Excavation requiring daily road closures in that area is set to begin Nov. 2.

On Ruby Street, crews will install sewer main and services Monday through Wednesday. Drivers should detour via West Yarmouth Road or Winslow Gray Road.

Water service installation on Route 6A will continue between the town line and North Sandy Side Lane. The road will close between Railroad Avenue and Willow Street during that work, with detours via those two streets; elsewhere, one lane of alternating traffic will be kept open.

Paving will continue on Seaview Avenue, with drivers directed to use Ocean Avenue or Pawkannawkut Road as a detour.

Drainage work tied to the Bass River Bridge Replacement project will continue on North Main Street and Old Main Street, with one lane of alternating traffic maintained. Drainage work will also continue on South Shore Drive near the Red Jacket Resort, where drivers should use Pawkannawkut Road to reach the resort, and on Follins Pond Road and Gun Rock Road, where one lane of alternating traffic will be kept open.

Residents with questions about the wastewater project can contact Ryan Chase, assistant wastewater superintendent, at 508-771-7921. Updates are also posted on the Town of Yarmouth Wastewater Construction Project page.
