Yarmouth Conservation Commission Approves Six Wetland Applications at July 2 Meeting

Yarmouth Conservation Commission approved six wetland applications and continued two cases at its July 2 meeting. The board issued a Negative 2 determination for a small house addition at 10 Gardiner Lane, granted a certificate of compliance for a 1997 order of conditions at 20 Perch Pond, and approved notices of intent for projects ranging from a like-for-like seawall replacement at 7 Tide Lane to a new dwelling with accessory dwelling unit on a National Heritage and Endangered Species Program habitat parcel at 286 LCF Road. Conservation Administrator Brittany drew attention to a policy gap during the seawall hearing, stating on the record that requiring vegetative buffers behind replaced bulkheads "is not in our regulations right now" but "has generally been past policy" and calling for it to be formally added.

Two cases — 14 Compass Drive and 143 Mayflower Terrace — were continued to July 16 at applicant request, and a third, 689 Willow Street, was continued after applicants requested a full three-member quorum.
