Health Board Delays Two Hearings to Nov. 2
Board of Health · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Yarmouth Board of Health continues two hearings to November 2 and seats a new member. The board unanimously granted continuances for a disputed rental inspection at 817 Route 28 and a flavored tobacco violation at the Yarmouth Port Village Store, where attorney Pete Conte said his firm was "just retained last week." Vice Chair Mary Craig told members that avoiding advanced wastewater treatment for irrigation reuse at Bayberry Hills Golf Course saved the town an estimated $20 million to $25 million, after the state approved discharging treated effluent there. The board also reviewed a plastic reduction survey of 46 respondents, with roughly 37 percent unhappy over pricing and nearly 75 percent reporting some business impact, and seated newly appointed member Deborah Martin, a longtime resident and former Board of Appeals member.
