Planning Board continues Becker's Package Store hearing to April 1
Planning Board · Meeting of March 18, 2026
Yarmouth Planning Board postpones Becker's Package Store expansion hearing. The board unanimously voted to continue the public hearing, originally scheduled for March 18, to April 1 due to a blizzard-related scheduling conflict affecting the Huzafia Corporation applicant's design team at Joe Casali Engineering. The proposal includes approximately 4,139 square feet of retail space and two two-bedroom residential units at Route 28 and Drew's Way in West Yarmouth.
In related action, Town Planner Kathy Williams updated the board on the Select Board's decision to remove Seasonal Communities Designation from the spring warrant pending further state clarification on undersized lot definitions and attainable housing requirements. The board also reviewed proposed Village Centers Overlay District amendments addressing MassDOT Route 28 corridor impacts. The Mattacheese Utilization Committee will move forward with a $200,000 MassDevelopment grant to conduct feasibility analysis on a proposed Sports Complex.
