YARMOUTH — The Yarmouth Planning Board voted 6-0 twice to send a new short-term rental general bylaw and companion zoning amendment to the November 16 Special Town Meeting. Town Planner Kathy Williams said short-term rentals brought in more than $2.375 million in fiscal year 2026, with 75 percent funding the town's wastewater program. Members debated keeping a reference to "as of right" duplexes that Town Counsel flagged as premature, with member Susan Brita warning it "might even sound like we're advocating for" duplexes; the board struck it.
The board also elected Will Rubenstein chair, Ken Smith vice chair and Susan Brita clerk for 2026-27, and unanimously retained current committee liaison assignments.
