Select Board urges Forest Road RFP withdrawal

Select Board · Meeting of August 25, 2026

YARMOUTH — The Yarmouth Select Board asked the housing authority to withdraw its Forest Road RFP. Members voted to call on the Yarmouth Housing Authority to pull the request for proposals for 506 Forest Road and to engage special or town counsel on the town's options, after Association to Preserve Cape Cod Executive Director Andrew Gottlieb said "Housing authority has its sole discretion to do what it chooses to do." The board unanimously changed the Freebird Motor Lodge license from annual to seasonal and approved licenses for Kiley Owen's September 12 art show. It disbanded the Drive-In Site Utilization Committee and the Library Building Committee, adopted a naming policy and tentatively approved its 2026 goals.

The board also endorsed Tim Haniford as information technology director to succeed retiring Paul Cioffi.
