Yarmouth Public Art Committee tables draft guidelines
Other Committee · Meeting of September 14, 2026
Yarmouth Public Art Committee tables guidelines, eyes grant seed money. Meeting with just three members present, the panel heard from Chloe Schaefer of the Cape Cod Commission on a cultural asset inventory due to wrap by December 31. Members tabled final approval of draft public art guidelines pending fuller attendance, aiming to bring the policy to the Select Board by December or January.
Discussion also touched on seeking $4,000 to $5,000 from the town's Tourism Revenue Preservation Fund to seed a committee art account, and on tracking down owners of artwork that has hung unclaimed in Town Hall for "well over two years" since the Yarmouth Art Guild's dissolution. One member floated eventually hosting the traveling exhibit "The Great Elephant Migration." The committee approved minutes from July 13 and August 3 unanimously and adjourned to meet again October 5.
