Zoning Board approves setback variance despite neighborhood concerns

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of August 13, 2026

Yarmouth Zoning Board approves front setback variance for home addition. The board voted 4-0 to grant John Aukshunas relief to reduce the front setback from 29.5 feet to 21.7 feet for an 8-foot-by-14-foot addition at 10 Gardiner Lane, though members expressed concern about lot size and neighborhood conformity. In other business, the board continued Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod's comprehensive permit application to build six affordable homes at 1121 Route 28 #B, with 100 percent of units restricted to low and moderate-income households, to September 24.
