Recreation Commission seeks Sandy Pond entrance sign and town standards

Recreation Commission · Meeting of June 10, 2026

YARMOUTH — Recreation Commission votes to seek Sandy Pond entrance sign and town-wide design standards. On June 10, the Recreation Commission voted unanimously to request a new entrance sign for Sandy Pond Recreation Area with "SANDY POND" prominently displayed above "RECREATION AREA" in smaller font. The commission also voted unanimously to urge the town to adopt town-wide municipal signage standards promoting consistency in design across municipal properties and facilities.

Both measures were formalized in official letters to the Select Board. Director Steve Reynolds reported that the East Coast Sealcoating pickleball court resurfacing project is proceeding on schedule for completion within 5 to 7 days, weather permitting.
