Yarmouth historic panel clears four home renovation permits

Other Committee · Meeting of March 23, 2026

Yarmouth historic committee approves four exterior renovation permits in a single session. The Old Kings Highway Historic District Committee unanimously cleared certificates of appropriateness for an 18-panel solar array at 160 Summer Street, a room-addition rebuild at 162 Thatcher Shore Road, a full exterior remodel at 9 Brave Farm Road North, and a siding-windows-deck overhaul at 16 Eider Street. Trinity Solar's Michaela called the Summer Street array "not viewable from Route 6A." Contractor Dana Pickup of Carefree Homes Company described the Eider Street project as "a total transformation of the house," including granite steps replacing failing railroad ties on a steep slope.

The board also approved its March 9 meeting minutes as amended before adjourning, with its next meeting set for April 13.
