Conservation Commission approves $36,500 for Bass River restoration

YARMOUTH — Conservation Commission approves $36,500 for river-restoration design. The Yarmouth board voted unanimously to fund Stimson Associates Landscape Architects through the Conservation Fund for revised Upper Bass River restoration bridge designs, replacing an original proposal deemed too complex to build and maintain. The simplified design reduces the footprint and maintenance burden while keeping the project on schedule.
Conservation Administrator Brittany DiRienzo recommended approval after conferring with state Department of Natural Resources officials and the town engineer; the fund will retain sufficient resources after this allocation.
