Wastewater projects advance on multiple fronts; WRRF completion extended

YARMOUTH — Water Resources Committee advances wastewater projects; WRRF completion pushed to January 2028. The committee reviewed January 5 updates from Owner's Project Manager Louis Ragozzino of Wright-Pierce on the $97.55 million Water Resource Recovery Facility contract with CH Nickerson, originally scheduled for completion in September 2027 but now targeted for January 2028. Our was named apparent low bidder for Contract 6 covering Route 28 from Higgins Crowell Road west to the Barnstable town line, with a bid of $19.3 million. Contract 2 is nearly complete except pump station work beginning in January; Contract 3 construction remains suspended pending town and contractor dispute resolution. Pilot testing at Bayberry Hills Golf Course for groundwater discharge is complete, with the hydrogeologic report expected January 2026.
